TECHNICAL SALES ASSISTANT

Job Description:

Reports to sales manager and provides an efficient and timely internal sales service with excellent customer care. 

Main areas of responsibility:

  • Process sales orders.
  • Compiling BOM’s
  • Arranging customer deliveries and liaising with Logistics
  • Purchasing parts and raw material
  • Creating works orders

Key performance indicators

Injection moulding setter

Job Description:

Reports to shift supervisor/production manager, purpose is to ensure all products are manufactured in accordance with supplied formula or specification, through safe and effective operation of the production equipment.

Main areas of responsibility:

  • Monitoring production processes ensuring optimum running conditions.
  • Tooling change overs
  • Resolving machine related production/quality issues in an efficient and timely manner
  • Providing efficient end of shift handovers
  • Produce quality moulded product.
  • Barrel and screw cleaning
  • Assist with the start-up and shutdown of the extrusion lines
  • Monitor and maintain quality in accordance with specification.
  • Use fork truck and manual means to move raw material and finished products.
  • Perform tool trials.
  • Help to achieve optimum production.
  • Assist other moulding setters and operators.
  • Make every effort to keep moulded product scrap to a minimum.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workplace and good housekeeping within the department (5’s)
  • Throughout each shift measure and record quality checks and monitor product quality
  • Follow and understand operating procedures and setting sheets for moulded products.
  • Inform the Production Manager immediately of any breaches of the works rules.

This role combines hands-on sales and purchase administration with strategic account management to ensure seamless order processing and enhanced customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire order lifecycle: process sales orders, allocate stock, and coordinate with planning, production, and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery.
  • Conduct regular reviews with existing customers, including monthly or bi-monthly meetings via telephone or Teams, to assess service levels and gather feedback.
  • Stock management and the print sign-off process, ensuring high-quality output and adherence to timelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, orders, and stock levels, including Call off stocks, and ensure that customers adhere to agreed terms.
  • Monitor and report on On-Time In-Full (OTIF) statistics, proactively identifying and addressing potential delivery issues.
